Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Realtime SDK, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service Description

Realtime SDK provides real-time collaboration infrastructure including WebSocket connectivity, presence tracking, cursor synchronization, document sync via CRDTs, and custom event broadcasting. The service is offered as both a managed cloud platform and a self-hosted solution.

Account Terms

  • You must provide accurate registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the service
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or other users
  • Transmit malware or harmful code through the service
  • Resell the service without written authorization

Payment Terms

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

We may change pricing with 30 days advance notice. Price changes do not apply to the current billing period.

Intellectual Property

Realtime SDK client libraries are licensed under the MIT License. The managed service, server infrastructure, and documentation are proprietary.

You retain all rights to content and data you transmit through the service. We do not claim ownership of your data.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Service Level

We target 99.9% uptime for paid plans (99.99% for Enterprise). Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated at least 48 hours in advance. The free tier is provided as-is without uptime guarantees.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Realtime SDK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. You may cancel your account through the dashboard or by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be available for export for 30 days.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
